Our power supplies are used in the production of hydrogen for this industry. Hydrogen can be produced through splitting water, also known as water electrolysis, in which hydrogen is extracted from the water molecule using an electrical current. The hydrogen produced is an energy carrier, taking the energy from that process and moving it to where it is needed. It is fed into a fuel cell along with air, which contains oxygen. In the fuel cell where it recombines with oxygen, hydrogen produces electricity, with water as a by-product.
